point and place

point and place is a collaborative bookwork by 6 artists/performers. The project addresses questions of space from several disciplines within art and design, at the centre of which has been an exploration of the nature of collaboration. This has resulted in a unique double-bound book of images, allowing shifting viewpoints and thresholds.

It launched at the 2007 London Artists Book Fair at the ICA and was awarded the Birgit Skiold Award for excellence in Book Arts. The publication is a limited edition artists’ book of 100 copies - buy it now!

It has been selected for 'Place, Identity, Memory', curated by IRIS, in Dumfries, Scotland, 23 May-28 June 2009.

Place, Identity, Memory, gathering work from all over the world, is an important international event. The informal context of the exhibition will offer a rare chance to see the broad spectrum of artists’ books outside the museum context, to actually handle the works of art and turn their pages, so much part of the experience special to artists’ books. The exhibition will tour the region until October when, to coincide with the Wigtown Book festival, it will be in Stranraer.
